The Similarities

The Differences

Look a little closer and you’ll find some important differences.

Horsepower – The 1025R offers a 10% improvement over the horsepower offered on the 1023E.

3 Point Hitch Control – The 1023E offers a basic implement control lever. On the 1025R, you’ll find a much more precise control option that’s much more like the hitch controls found on larger four-wheel drive and utility tractors.

Lights – The 1025R model comes standard with two front facing headlights.

Tilt Steering Wheel – Operators can adjust the steering wheel on the 1025R to a comfortable position. On the 1023E, the steering wheel is stationary.

Cruise Control – Cruise control is only available on the 1025R model and can come in handy if you have long stretches of grass to mow.

Toolbox – Rear mounted toolbox is included standard on the 1025R.

12V Outlet – Want the option to charge your phone or another device on the tractor? The 1025R makes it possible.

Which one is right for you?

If you are simply looking for a quality subcompact tractor at the lowest cost, the John Deere 1023E is a solid choice for the price. If you’re willing to spend a little more though, the best bang for your buck is definitely the 1025R. With all of the additional bells and whistles, the 1025R offers more comfort and more large tractor style features in a compact package.
