Here at Papé Machinery Agriculture & Turf, we believe in customizing your equipment to best fit your project needs. One of the greatest benefits of the John Deere tractor lineup is the ability to add implements and attachments. Pallet forks are some of our most popular attachments we see on compact utility tractors.
Use of Pallet Forks
Pallet forks are one of our most versatile tractor attachments, and can be used for anything from:
- moving pallets;
- hauling logs;
- relocating rocks;
- carrying roofing and construction materials;
- moving hale bays;
- and more.
If you’re looking to increase the lift capacity of your tractor, pallet forks are one of your most reliable and foolproof options. But with so many pallet forks to choose from, which one is right for you and your John Deere tractor?
Which Pallet Fork to Choose
Papé Toolkit Expert Jason Hughes breaks down the differences between three of our most popular and widely-sold models of pallet forks:
- AP10F
- AP11F
- AP12F
In this edition of the Papé Machinery Agriculture & Turf blog, let’s take a look at the key differences and benefits of these three pallet forks as outlined in this always helpful Toolkit video.
AP10F
The AP10F pallet fork is the lightest weight pallet fork among the three. Weighing just 200 lbs, which includes the tines and frame, this pallet fork still exceeds the lift capacity of most compact utility tractors. The lift capacity of the AP10F is 1,250 lbs. This pallet fork is perfect for any of the 1 Series or the smaller frame options in the 2 Series.
AP11F
The AP11F is another one of our popular options. Still lightweight, the frame on the top is a bit bigger than its lighter-weight counterpart, the AP10F. Together with the frame and the tines, the AP11F comes in at weighing 250 lbs. It’s equipped with a 42 inch tine, and has a lift capacity well over most compact utility tractors; in fact, the AP11F can lift up to 2,000 lbs.
John Deere lists this pallet fork as a fixed pallet fork, which means the tines are fixed to the frame. There is also a rotating tine option. Regardless, a fixed pallet fork doesn’t mean that the fork isn’t adjustable. You can still adjust the forks in and out depending on what you need to pick up.
AP12F
With the AP12F pallet fork, we see a considerable jump in size and lift capacity. The AP12F is a heavier duty pallet fork, weighing in at 395 lbs with a 48 inch tine. However, that added weight gives a lot of extra power. In fact the AP12F can lift up to 3,750 lbs, making it an exceptional choice for heavier duty projects.
The AP12F is a considerable step up from the smaller pallet forks, and works well for the 3R and 4R Series tractors.
All of these attachments can work with John Deere’s Quik-Knect System. On the AP12F, you see hook-in pin options that will adjust out to the larger 5 Series tractors.
