Did you graduate from high school this year? Was prom cancelled? Did you have your graduation ceremony via Zoom? These are unprecedented times and at Papé we recognize that it couldn’t have been easy to be a high school senior in 2020. While it may feel like the world has been a bit upside down, we want you to know that it won’t always be this way and there is still very much a bright future ahead of you.
Have you given any thought to what’s next for you? Whether you had planned to attend a 2-year or 4-year college program, get a job, or find an apprenticeship, Coronavirus may have put that on hold.
Papé has an exciting partnership with a number of colleges including Linn Benton Community College in Lebanon, Oregon and Walla Walla Community College in Walla Walla, Washington. We’d like you to give some thought to becoming a diesel technician. These jobs are in high demand and lead to rewarding careers. Papé is excited to offer 25 scholarships this year to recent high school graduates who have been impacted by the pandemic. If selected, Papé will pay for 50% of your out-of-pocket tuition costs towards earning your Diesel Technician Associate Degree. Our next technician training program starts Fall 2020.
The program combines classroom education, hand-on learning, and paid internships during school breaks at one of our Papé Machinery dealership locations. Graduates of the program will have an in-depth knowledge of equipment fundamentals including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drivetrains, and undercarriage wear management, plus the latest Precision Tech.
To date, we’ve been able to offer 100% of our technician training program graduates a full-time position upon completing the program. If you’re interested in starting your career as a diesel technician, apply today!
