John Deere has updated their front loader options for 2023, and Papé Machinery Agriculture & Turf is thrilled to carry the most up-to-date models. In this edition of the Papé Machinery Agriculture & Turf blog, let’s take a close look at the John Deere 120E Loader, its features, and why it might be the right choice for you.
The 120E Loader
The 120E front loader is compatible with all John Deere 1-Series tractors, and is a new model released in 2023.
Why select a 120E loader? The benefits of this front loader are plentiful, and the highlights include:
- 20% cost savings as compared to the 120R
- Removable bucket (no tools required)
- Comparable lift weight and height to the 120R
- Able to fit in more narrow spaces
Cost Savings
If you’re looking to stay within a certain budget, the 120E is a great choice. You’ll enjoy about a 20% cost savings as compared to the 120R, without losing any lift height or weight capacities.
Removable Bucket
Unlike the previous model, the 120D, the 120E has a removable bucket. While the 120D had a bolted bucket, you can remove the bucket on the 120E without much trouble. While it’s not as easy as the quick park system featured on the 120R, the 120E bucket removal process doesn’t require any tools. We’ve outlined the steps to the bucket removal in our Toolkit video.
While yes, this process does require a few extra steps than a quick park loader featured on the 120R, it’s not too challenging and is still tool-less. Plus, for the amount of times you’ll actually need to remove your loader, it’s definitely worth the money savings.
Narrow Bucket
Unlike other front loader models, the 120E loader can fit within narrow spaces. If you’re working in tighter quarters, on the side of a house, or looking to fit through small spaces, the 120E provides a lot of flexibility, coming in at a bucket size of about 49 x 51.25 inches.
Lift Capacity
With the 120E loader, you don’t lose any lift capacity as compared to the 120R. You’ll get an 825 lbs lift capacity at the pivot, which is comparable to the 120R. Lift height is also comparable, coming in at 71.2 inches. So, when you choose this more budget-friendly option, you’re not sacrificing any significant amount of lift capacity.
