Livestock? Yes. Pasture? Yes. Manure spreader? No.
If this describes your current ranch status, hate to break it to you, but that’s one spreader shy of efficiency. Manually spreading manure, even on just one or two acres, is extremely difficult and time-consuming. With options for ground-driven or PTO-driven manure spreaders, you have a choice on how to cut down time and fertilizer costs.
TYPES OF PTO MANURE SPREADERS
Choosing a spreader depends on your capacity needs and the size of your pasture. Frontier offers a variety of high-quality manure spreaders compatible with John Deere utility and four-wheel drive tractors. Read about the various options below to see which type of manure spreader would best suit your needs:
Side-Discharge Manure Spreaders
Frontier offers four models of side-discharge manure spreaders ranging from 2,000 to 4,200 gallon capacities. These spreaders have a 40-inch-wide side expeller with discharge gate position indicators, adjustable auger speed, and tandem axles to easily and accurately spread composted manure.
Hydraulic-Push Manure Spreaders
Hydraulic-push manure spreaders unload the fastest without sacrificing even coverage which makes them a great choice for large livestock operations. Frontier has two models available: the MS1442 with a 425-bushel capacity or the MS1455 with a 550-bushel capacity.
Chain-Unloading Manure Spreaders
Ranging from small manure spreaders with a 25-bushel capacity to a heavy-duty 660-bushel capacity, Frontier’s ground-driven models use the wheels of the spreader to turn the chains that power the beaters. The PTO models offer a larger capacity options and use the power of the tractor’s engine to turn the beaters.
