The Similarities
The John Deere 4044M and 4052M both belong to the 4 Family tractor series, making them the largest of the compact tractors that John Deere offers. With powerful, stout drivetrains and 3-point hitches, these tractors are able to handle many of the smaller jobs on commercial farms and most jobs on family or specialty farms.
Differences Between the 4044M and 4052M
There are some key differences between the 4044M and 4052M that are important to understand when shopping between the two:
Power - The 4052M is a more powerful tractor than the 4044M, coming with 51.5 hp compared to the 4044M’s 43.1 hp. More importantly, when choosing between the PowrReverser™ and eHydro™ transmissions available on both models, the PTO power of the 4052M remains unchanged at 40.8 hp with both transmissions, whereas the 4044M loses a small amount of PTO power with the eHydro™.
Which one is right for you?
When choosing between the two tractors the deciding factor will be power. If you plan on using larger attachments and conducting heavier-duty work, the 4052M may be the right option for you.
If you plan on using your 4 Family tractor for smaller jobs or use it for less frequent heavy attachment use, the 4044M can meet your needs and help you save on your equipment budget.
